Geek Girl Strong is teaming up with New York Comic Con for a special Con-Prep Fangirl Walking Club event!
Every year people in and near Penn Station shout "It's not Halloween yet!",
because we invade a special part of West Manhattan for 4-days.
Once a month Geek Girl Strong hosts a donation-based walking group to and/or from geeky sites in the city, this month we're excited to take a walk around the Jacob Javits Convention Center in preparation for NYCC!
We will work on our walking skills,
get a lay of the land surrounding the convention center,
and maybe even create plans for obtaining sustenance after the floor closes
(two of our stops close at 10-11p and 2a!)
What to expect:
- Name tag stickers to make group introductions easier
- Walking recommendations and assistance if needed
- Time to explore our stops: Including but not limited to a portion of the Hudson River Greenway and Hudson Yards
- Walking 1.9 miles
- Giveaways from Reed Pop, the folks who produce NYCC!
What to bring:
- Water
- Comfortable/appropriate walking shoes and clothing
All levels of walkers are welcome.
We'll be setting out rain or shine!
